Tremendous team at AMP. They’ve really taken in our toddler to make him comfortable as a first timer but also challenge him (and me).
We absolutely love AMP Westlake Hills! The entire team has been so patient, kind, and supportive with my son. From the moment we walk through the door, everyone is welcoming and makes us feel comfortable and valued. They truly take the time to connect with him and create such a positive environment. We’re so grateful for the care, understanding, and encouragement they’ve shown our family. Highly recommend!
Fantastic place to learn BJJ. Their kids’ program in particular is exceptional. We highly recommend this school for beginners and those of all ages.
What families say about AMP BJJ's patient coaches
AMP BJJ in West Lake Hills holds a 5.0 rating across 126 Google reviews. The theme you will see most is patience. Parents describe coaches who take time with nervous children and adjust to each kid's pace.
Several families mention shy kids who needed a few classes before they opened up. Parents report that sticking with it paid off, so plan on a short settling-in period if your child is reserved. Reviewers also point to a clean, welcoming space and an easy sign-up.
Adults have their say too. Newer students and drop-in visitors describe technical teaching that works for beginners, and one first-timer found the class a real workout.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for kids, teens and adults
The school describes itself as a family martial arts academy teaching kids, teens and adults, with programs starting at age 3. Beyond regular classes, it names private lessons and birthday parties. Its website describes a Family Class where parents and children train on the same mat at the same time, and says this location is where that class began.
Your first class is free, and the website states that memberships run month to month with no contract. The gym opens at 7 am Monday through Saturday, closing at 8 pm on weekdays and 5 pm on Saturday. West Lake Hills, in Travis County, had a population of 3,229 in 2025, per the Census Bureau.
If you want more than a hobby, the school also names a competition team. Reviewers say the coaching holds up for students with serious goals as well as for those just starting out.
